The overall goal of the project is to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of municipalities and the region and promote a more sustainable and healthy transport behaviour among the citizens of the region. The project target is 10 % reduced CO2 emissions based on a proposed zerocenario for the different subprojects. The project is a collaborative project between five municipalities working with nudging, a method in behavioural science where they work with design, election architecture and social norms for behavioral change. Each municipality develops and tests different nudging tools where small simple pushes direct people to a desired choice for sustainable transport. The business community’s participation in the project takes place through cooperation in the implementation of activities and through dissemination seminars. The result of the project is partly interesting for smaller companies working with change, communication and marketing (especially in the environmental field) and companies with active CSR work. The results are expected to provide increased knowledge within regional organisations and municipalities about nudging as a method and its opportunities in the transport area. In the long term, the project contributes to reduced carbon dioxide emissions from the region’s inhabitants.
