Smart creative city – a new model for film, digital media and innovative processes in sustainable urban development

Goal The goal of the project is to create innovations to contribute to sustainable urban development – world-class – in the Stockholm region. The efforts will strengthen business development and competitiveness for small and medium-sized companies in film and digital media. Strengthen innovation, competitiveness and growth by promoting cross-sectoral collaboration between actors in the cultural and creative sectors, especially film and digital media, as well as public and private actors in urban development. Work and activities The project has a clear process and activities designed to achieve clear goals. The cornerstones of the activity structure are: — BRANSCHPOOL – MATCHNING PROCESS – pilot studies/test lab – KONFERENS – DEVELOPMENT/JUSTERING Purely concretely, the project will work on building a BRANSCHPOOL of expertise in film and digital media from which competence via a MATCHNING PROCESS will be passed on to pilot studies/test labs on concrete challenges in urban development in the region. Experience, knowledge and results from the test lab are spread on, for example, an annual KONFERENS. Citizen dialogue will be an important element. Regional business participation Based on actual conditions and needs, the pilot study has identified concrete and genuine needs among small and medium-sized enterprises in the region that line up with central strategic challenges for the Stockholm region, how the Film Region in broad cross-sectoral collaboration with other actors can act within the framework of a processor-oriented, reality-oriented and result-oriented project to meet the target groups’ needs and to tackle the region’s strategic challenges. Expected results and benefits – New services and business areas – Strengthened client competence of KKN services – Dissemination of knowledge, including increased knowledge and interest in working innovatively to promote the Better Environment and Equal Opportunities and Non-discrimination – Increased exchange between KKN and other areas in the region – Strengthening innovation climate in the region – the Stockholm region is a more attractive region to live, work in and visit Expected long-term effects The project’s long-term impacts are linked to the most attractive region in Europe. The project creates a concrete model that can help achieve the following RUFS objectives – to develop: — The region to a leading growth region – a region with a good living environment – an open and accessible region
