Open Lab Skåne – a collaboration and innovation arena in life science, materials science, food and chemistry

The applicant wants to see increased competitiveness and innovation in the region’s companies. The project wants to work for more innovative development projects by giving more companies within Life Science, food and chemistry the opportunity to utilise the collaboration partners’ instruments in laboratories and equipment halls, and that companies also receive subject-specific knowledge support in their innovation work. In order to make available the instruments and expertise within Open Lab, a portal will be built up where the visitor can easily see the nodes’ aggregate offer. Companies must have the opportunity to work in labs and equipment halls, but the project can assist with staff to handle instruments or analyse the information that has emerged in completed tests. Concrete collaborations between researchers and companies will also be included in the project. The objective of the concrete collaborations is to solve a challenge that the company has in the development of products, services or processes. A well-executed project will enable faster product development among participating companies, increased awareness of neutron and synchrotron facilities’ possibilities, broadened the user group that utilises lab, appliance hall and knowledge available in the environments today, the project will also increase collaboration between academia and companies as well as created new contact areas and partners for participating parties.
