Technology development and innovation

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMF) have great opportunities to improve energy efficiency. The possibility for energy efficiency is available in all sectors and sectors, but despite the fact that many measures are profitable and can be implemented relatively easily, there is a ¿implementation gap¿. The term refers to the obstacles that may exist between companies knowing what needs to be done and their real opportunities to do so. Previous studies have shown that many SMEs do not currently have their own capacity to implement energy efficiency measures that require different types of solutions. This project aims to help bring identified needs for measures over the ¿Implementation gap¿and thus enable companies to implement the efficiency measures. Within the framework of its activities, the Agency has two support regulations that provide opportunities to support various initiatives. Based on the work on needs capture, the Swedish Energy Agency can choose to gather forces around specific areas and make targeted calls or put together client groups. In particular, the project addresses the area of ¿Network for innovation and technology procurement¿. However, this project has a broader approach as the efforts to achieve the project’s goals can also be initiatives such as verification/tests and feasibility studies. Small and medium-sized enterprises that have already taken a step in their energy efficiency work, or need new technologies, are those who are primarily judged to be interested in the project’s efforts. A specific target group for the project may be companies participating in an energy efficiency network or in the nodes’ seminar meetings. Companies are given the opportunity to go ahead and work with new solutions and innovative action proposals, thereby taking another step in their energy efficiency efforts. The project thus contributes to companies’ understanding of innovative technology increases and the risks of using such technology are perceived as less. The support offered within the project will be open to all SMEs to apply for.
