The overall goal of the project is to help make more test and demo environments available to SMEs to increase the possibility of participation in R & D, innovation-oriented procurements, which lead to new products and services that are commercialised and also when an export market. The project objectives are to: 1. Develop offers of new knowledge to SMEs that they can translate into new products and services for an export market. 2. Utilise test and demo environments for increased collaboration between SMEs and R & D, thereby developing a method to streamline flows and processes in Stockholm’s innovation system Frontrunners for Innovation intends to add a new concept that addresses an untapped growth potential that exists in small and medium-sized companies (SMF) that wants to grow in the region. The project offers three test and demo environments where the region’s SMEs can participate in needs-driven R & D and internationalisation. Frontrunners intends to develop collaboration with SMEs in the test and demo environments. A central benefit that the project is expected to bring is that, with several SMEs involved in R & D, which are locked through the project’s channels, increased integration between industries and increased opportunities to research needs-based products and services. Frontrunners for sustainable innovation expected long term effects are: 1. Giving the region increased international attention by combining three strong test and demo environments and creating a joint international competitive offering for Stockholm – Hub for Testbed Sweden. 2. In the long term, there will be more world-class companies in IT, cleantech and production at the same time as in 3. That investment in R & D is increasing, which leads to new qualified jobs in the region.
