Umeå Hamn AB – land investments for increased capacity and new functions

The overall goal of the project is to strengthen regional business competitiveness and growth for Upper Norrland by creating conditions for more efficient and environmentally friendly freight transport and increased multimodality. The project goal is increased capacity and new functions linked to the ferry between Umeå and Vaasa. The project goal is divided into two sub-goals that are directly linked to the project’s main activities. Interim goal 1 is moving the E12 to enable larger areas for a developed, safer and more efficient handling of departing and arriving vehicles and freight units. Interim goal 2 is a new area for long-term trucks and trailers with access to service functions as well as for other activities connected to the ferry and port.
