Energy collaboration Blekinge wants to explore opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing in the regional development of low-energy buildings and increased use of renewable energy and self-production. According to the project owner, there is great potential for increased energy efficiency of buildings, which they currently believe are hampered by lack of competence and resources. The project owner believes that this can help to select short-term and inexpensive solutions over long-term sustainable, and that opportunities for new innovative technologies are not used. By identifying and bringing together different actors, according to the project owner, the development of products in order to integrate energy production into buildings could be made possible. They see great potential for energy efficiency by building right from the start and investing in renewable energy sources. Development initiatives in Blekinge and Skåne today, according to Energikontoret Syd, are carried out by individual actors and good results are not utilised sufficiently at a regional level. Cutting-edge knowledge “sticks” with a limited number of developers and managers, and the project owner believes that dissemination to public clients could be a sign for a broad market. And that suppliers who do not follow market development deliver according to standards, if the client is not requiring more. Activities in the feasibility study will contribute to a development dialogue between research, industry and society. The project owner’s idea is to seek collaboration with, among others, Blekinge Institute of Technology, Lund University of Technology/University, Energy cluster in Karlshamn, Cefur and other regional networks in Blekinge/Skåne.
