The goal of the project is to streamline energy use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transport on Gotland, to contribute to the national target of 70 % reduction of climate impact from transport by 2030. In this work, the project is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized companies that carry out road transport and/or work with machinery in industry, construction and construction. These companies will be given guidance to design a systematic energy efficiency work, partly through lectures, seminars and workshops, and partly through the introduction of energy consultants to advise and design concrete action plans for each participating company (business support). A third part of the project is to work with an expanded customer base for public transport. A travel advisor will work in the project with behavioural changes and communication around public transport, and review increased opportunities with intermodal transport solutions. When the project ends, conditions for sustainable transport on Gotland are expected to have improved significantly. This is because actors in the transport sector have gained increased knowledge of energy and climate aspects and have established concrete action plans for their activities, by improving communication between clients and operators and by more people choosing to travel collectively on the island. In the long term, the project is expected to have contributed to reduced climate impact from Gotland transport, through both energy efficiency and transition to more renewable energy.
