CeTLeR 2.0.

The purpose of this project is to further develop the Centre for Visitors Industry Research, to continue work with needs-motivated research from an interdisciplinary perspective based on Dalarna’s area of strength Innovative Experience Production. Based on experience from previous projects, the project has developed methods and models for research collaboration and learned lessons that the project can use to focus on the areas where their work is most beneficial to the tourism industry in the region. Through CeTLeR 2.0 (Centre for Tourism and Leisure Research) the overall goal of the project is to help solve the great need for expertise and research-based knowledge of the tourism industry’s companies and thereby contribute to long-term sustainable growth and development in the tourism industry and experience sector. Sub-target 1: Coordination of CeTLeR for collaboration between academia and industry. The project will deepen the initiated efforts for research collaboration and co-creation, where the clusters and the region’s organisations are involved. Sub-target 2: Knowledge dissemination and utilisation of research for sustainable solutions to societal challenges The project CeTLeR 2.0 at Dalarna University will create and maintain the now opened knowledge paths for the implementation of research results in the region’s industry. Sub-target 3: Further development of labs and test areas The CeTLeR 2.0 project will contribute to the development of research-driven innovation processes for the region’s clusters and societal actors. CeTLeR will offer the opportunity for companies and organisations to collaborate in projects where new business models, working methods and methods and follow-up analyses are tested and implemented. Sub-target 4: Deepen national and international networks and collaborations Cooperating in national as well as international networks is an important piece of the puzzle in order to bring the regional business community together with the international research front. Regional industry participation Based on experience from the previous project period, the project has developed methods and models for research collaboration with clusters, companies and organisations and learned the project to focus on the areas where the work has been most beneficial to the tourism industry in the region. One purpose of this project is thus to further develop CeTLeR 2.0 as a platform for collaboration between academia and industry and to build capacity for knowledge exchange and skills supply in the field of tourism and experiences. Expected results and benefits after the end of the project After completion of the project, the following has been achieved: — A long-term sustainable platform for collaboration between industry and research has been established, which can work after the end of the project. — Investments in research, development and innovation have increased among companies through knowledge exchange, which has led to them strengthening their position, for example through the companies’ participation in pre-studies and seminar activities – More joint research and development projects between Dalarna University and the region’s industry and organisations have been established and further developed, both nationally and at EU level. “An attractive infrastructure for research and open innovation has been established and further developed where analytical and test environments are available and have been tested and benefited from companies and organisations. — Through CeTLeR’s participation in various projects and networks nationally and internationally, the project has deepened the collaboration with a number of key partners in research and development, which strengthens CeTLeR’s position in the region and in the research community. Expected long-term effects In the long term, the CeTLeR 2.0 project leads to strengthening research, raising knowledge and strengthening the hospitality industry through new innovations, new products, growth and employment in the tourism industry, which strengthens the region’s competitiveness.
