KTP Energy 2.0 knowledge exchange between academia and industry, is a project that will develop sustainable knowledge exchange between academia and industry to meet the needs of a transition to a low-carbon economy through concrete efforts in energy efficiency. The goal of the project: In collaboration between the region’s higher education institutions and other actors in the energy and environment area, establish a model for sustainable skills supply and knowledge exchange between academia and industry by identifying and meeting the companies’ needs for business development and competence supplements at strategic level in the area of energy efficiency. The project will lead to concrete development of companies’ competence, innovation and competitiveness. To achieve this, the project has developed a number of measurable sub-goals that must be achieved by the end of the project. The project is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized companies in Gävleborg and Dalarna. KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnerships) is based on a successful British concept that involves a newly graduated graduate, called KTP project manager, receiving a strategically important development assignment in a company for about 1¿2 years, where half the salary is paid by the company and the rest of the community/project. During the project, the KTP project leader gets access to a qualified supervisor from the academy as well as a professional business coach from the business community. A fundamental idea is to strengthen regional competence to run companies in an environmentally sustainable way and to create growth. The goal is for the KTP concept to be permanent at regional level, at the same time as dissemination takes place both nationally and internationally.
