The project goal is to increase the proportion of sustainable travel to and from Kalmar city centre and Linnaeus University’s new premises. The project helps to facilitate the transport sector’s transition to a low-carbon economy. The working methods are about behavioural impact and are within the framework of the concepts Mobility Management and Nudging. In the project Kalmar Municipality and Linnaeus University work together with the following overarching activities: — Develop decision-makers and experts who, in their professional role, have the opportunity to influence people’s travel habits – Develop and test initiatives aimed at travellers to and from Kalmar city centre including Linnaeus University’s employees and students – Establish and disseminate a systematic and long-term model for working with behaviour and attitude issues that ensure sustainable travel habits among women and men. Efficient and sustainable transport to a logistical hub in the region like Kalmar C is a necessary prerequisite for regional growth. In the long term, the project opens up a market for regionally based companies that work with different types of services linked to sustainable transport. The project is expected to result in increased knowledge of how travel habits can be affected by the project partners & among key people in organisations that follow the project. An effective working model for behavioral impact is anchored & serves as a role model for other municipalities and private employers. In the long term, the project contributes to a fossil-free 2030.
