The digital step

The project is a collaborative project between Region Västerbotten, Dorotea Municipality, Gold Of Lappland Economic Association, Visit Hemavan Tärnaby AB, Visit Umeå AB and Vilhelmina Municipality. It is aimed directly at the tourism industry companies in Västerbotten. The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth has conducted a feasibility study ¿Digitalisation of companies¿which focuses on how small and medium-sized enterprises should take advantage of the possibilities of digitalisation: For all the interviewed tourism companies, the use of technology is limited and the digital journey has recently begun¿. The overall goal is that tourism companies in project geography are well aware of digital development, have good knowledge of their digital presence and that there are digital coaches at destination level. Tourism companies in project geography have a good insight into how horizontal criteria are used to develop the activities and how they are used to ensure a sustainable tourism industry in Västerbotten. The project objectives are: 100 companies have an action plan 100 companies have received coaching and support (digital business development process) 4 partners and regional parties have an action plan More bookable products are sold through relevant channels also internationally Profitability for participating companies increases through increased sales
