Vision Gotland 2025 has an overall goal that Gotland will be a world-leading island region in environmental and climate issues and that energy use should be based on a high proportion of local renewable energy types. The pilot study will highlight the conditions for small-scale fossil-free energy production and energy storage based on a new innovative modular system with small-scale, flexible, mobile hydrogen plants for the production and storage of solar and/or wind energy. The feasibility study will result in a report with surveys and analyses on the three focus areas of the feasibility study: Conditions for hydrogen production and storage on Gotland, Applications for hydrogen gas and Economy of hydrogen production. The results of the feasibility study can be utilised in the ongoing process of planning and providing room for action to achieve the goals of more local renewable energy types as well as reduced climate and environmental impact.
