Smart Growth 2.3

The project is a collaborative project between Skellefteå, Älvsbyn and Piteå municipalities and partly builds on the results of the Smart and Sustainable Growth project. Of previous projects, the project owner has seen that more efforts are needed for the region’s companies to grow and become sustainable and competitive in the long term. This project aims to increase the insight and awareness of existing companies about the importance of business, organisation and idea development, and to give companies concrete tools and methods that they can continue to work with. The project should support, rather than compete, with the efforts that are already being made. The overall goal of the project is to grow more companies and bring more innovations into a larger market. The milestones to be prioritised are: 1) Direct efforts to increase growth and create more jobs. 2) More innovative services and products commercialised. 3) Get increased competitiveness and export maturity for SMEs. The project will develop development programmes to increase growth in existing business through business development programmes, theme workshops, leadership programmes and individual advice. The project will provide innovation support for ideas, inspiration events and advice and will communicate the project’s results both through social channels and through traditional media such as newspapers and press. The expected result is that the companies involved in the project will have increased local growth, increased competitiveness and more innovative services and products on the market. Through stronger cooperation between business operators and municipalities, a joint responsibility for the region is taken and enables the development and employment of existing companies. In the long term, the project is expected to increase cooperation between companies with greater competitiveness and good effects on employment in the region.
