Energy-efficient municipal properties in Skåne – from energy waste to value-creating capital costs

The project owner will recruit five pilot municipalities in Scania and conduct a feasibility study that defines the framework for and anchors an implementation project with energy-smart and value-creating property management in focus. In recent years, energy efficiency work in properties has stagnated. In 2018, for example, there were only a few individual public procurements in Skåne with energy efficiency in focus. Consultants also witness a declining trend and fear that expertise in this area is losing due to low demand for energy efficiency projects. The projects and networks that exist today mainly focus on the operational personnel and focus on individual technical measures in real estate. This feasibility study focuses on the most important target group: real estate strategists, bosses and politicians. A change in the working method is only possible if those responsible for the issues at the municipality have competence, produce decision-making and make decisions on large-scale energy efficiency and an ambitious way of working. An exchange of competence with similar projects will be organised within the framework of the feasibility study.
