Företagsfabriken i Kronoberg AB (Business Factory) is the regional incubator in Kronoberg County. A business incubator is a supporting function for industry both locally and regionally for innovation and growth with a focus on knowledge-intensive companies. These companies are the target group of the project. An incubator offers people with innovative business ideas support to develop companies. The support from the Enterprise Factory means that growth accelerates more powerfully (faster, safer & stronger) than it would have done without the Enterprise Factory’s method and support. The method includes how the Företagsfabriken is done according to plan for companies to achieve their goals. The companies admitted to the Företagsfabriken will be assessed to have the potential to reach a turnover of SEK 30 million/year (five years after market introduction) and to reach out to the international market. (They are categorised as small enterprises because they are usually between 10-49 employees with a balance turnover that does not exceed EUR 10 m/year.) It is against these goals that both companies and the Enterprise Factory’s results are measured. The results contribute to Kronoberg County’s growth and employment. The company factory is owned by Region Kronoberg, Videum Science Park (Växjö Municipality) and Linnaeus University in equal parts. Through the association with Linnaeus University, there is a common interest in supporting the commercialisation of academic business ideas. In 2018, a feasibility study (FramInk) was conducted which was financed by Region Kronoberg. The feasibility study aimed at examining what needed to be improved at the Företagsfabriken in order to achieve the goals.
