The feasibility study aims to create an understanding of where Gotland handicraft breweries are related to regional/internal collaboration, investigate the regional development needs and highlight proposals for strategies and concrete action plans for development. The study is carried out in collaboration with industry. A first project goal is to create a picture of cooperation and competition through discussions with breweries and actors in the brewers’ value chain on Gotland and to identify key actors in the value chain of craft beer from raw materials to finished product. A second project goal is to design a list of needs and action plans for strengthened collaboration. A third project goal is to compile a report including background, purpose, methodology, analyses and summaries of all completed discussions and a research overview of national and international collaboration platforms in the craft brewery industry. The feasibility study will create a basis for continued implementation of the action plan that the feasibility study aims to develop for increased and streamlined collaboration within and outside the craft brewery industry on Gotland. This will in the longer term strengthen SMEs’ opportunities for sustainable and gender-equal growth across Gotland.
