Hässleholm as an infrastructural node

The starting point for the work on the feasibility study and subsequent processes is Hässleholm’s unique infrastructure and geographical location in southern Sweden. To fully develop this potential, analysis, mapping and stakeholder dialogues need to be carried out. According to a report from Sydsvenska Industri- och Handelskammaren och Industrifakta AB, South Sweden Live 2018! – Hässleholm has very good prospects for the location of a so-called dry port. The capacity for expansion related to increased flow rates is considered limited. A dry port could be an opportunity to create a more efficient handling of future freight flows and in parallel provide increased capacity in the traditional ports. The feasibility study will shed light on how Hässleholm overall can be developed as an infrastructural node and how the Hässleholm Nord area can be developed and linked to the central parts of Hässleholm. Hässleholm Nord is an industrial area near road 21, the area is currently planned but not prepared. In the feasibility study, a comprehensive documentation will be produced as a basis for the position and focus on continued processes in a possible future implementation project.
