The overall objectives of the project are to build up a regional digital innovation hub and open innovation environment for data-driven innovation and to increase R & D investments in the region. With a focus on information and data-driven innovation, the ability to develop new innovative services and products is built up in the region. This is done in good cooperation with other innovation actors, and with a clear connection to research institutes in the region, which ensures good distribution and viability for the project’s results. By implementing business-driven “Innovation Prints” the project increases knowledge and understanding of how information and data-driven innovation contributes to the development of new innovative digital services and business models, including in the field at the intersection between the public and private sectors. The goal of the project is that at least 16 new services will be developed by companies participating in the project. A long-term successful innovation environment will require more competence. The project will therefore carry out activities focused on increased digital competence in different ways. The project will also promote gender equality, diversity and norm creativity. This is a key factor for sustainable development. After completing the project, the goal is that Digital Innovation Hub Västernorrland will be a European digital innovation hub, connected in an international network with access to digital expertise and digital technologies with long-term financing from the Digital Europe programme.
