The project intends to build about 85 charging poles for electric vehicles adjacent to train stations along Mittstråket between Sundsvall and Storlien in order to reduce the climate impact of passenger transport and to contribute to increased collective travel. The investments are made in collaboration with Sundsvall Energi AB and Jämtkraft AB, which will also own the charging posts after project completion. Since there is no commercial interest to build charging posts along the route, the county administrative boards in Västernorrland and Jämtland are largely co-financed. The project contributes with these investments to an estimated reduction of 248 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.
