Circular economy through industrial collaboration 2.0

Opportunities for resource and energy efficiency that come from collaboration between actors are not utilised today to the extent that would be appropriate to achieve energy and climate policy objectives. The overall goal is therefore that the project will lead to a reduced climate impact by reducing its use of resources and energy when introducing industrial symbiosis (ius) in its operations. Such efforts also have the potential to contribute to increased growth and strengthened competitiveness by generating reduced costs (or increased revenues) as well as increased security of supply of resources and energy. Based on the results of the pre-study (Circular Economics through industrial collaboration), this project aims to increase the public organisations’ ability, via existing business work, to stimulate a development where companies interact with each other for increased resource utilisation. The aim of the project is for the public organisations to gain the knowledge and tools they need to continue their work on facilitating ius on their own. The project will work from a broad perspective to initially reach a broad group of companies. A variation in stakeholder constellations based on both the type of company and people is expected to create better conditions for collaboration, than if demarcation at an early stage is made into a certain type of actor.
