Few small and medium-sized companies (SMF) benefit from the knowledge and research available at Linköping University (LiU). There are challenges in linking companies’ needs with the university’s research and knowledge resources. Employed researchers and teachers at the university also find it difficult to get the time to suffice for the collaboration task as the organisation is not optimal to deal with individual companies’ challenges. The project will therefore develop and test new methods and tools for increased collaboration and dialogue between academia and SMEs. Almi has contacts with companies and LiU has the theoretical research that has not yet been put into practice. By working with contributions in the form of value analyses, knowledge and research programmes Almi and LiU will together investigate how academia can help individual companies in their development. Through these efforts, SMEs are expected to gain new insights and new knowledge that can contribute to its development. This in turn is expected to contribute to new ideas about products, services and research.
