Artificial intelligence is being widely discussed today as one of the future technologies that can be crucial to whether companies will cope with the harsh competitive demand that globalisation and digitalisation entail. The overall goal of the project is that SME companies in the region through knowledge of AI-based service development should increase their innovation capacity and competitiveness, which contributes to increased regional growth. The project goal is that more SMEs in the region have increased their expertise in the AI field and have gained an understanding of how data-driven decisions and artificial intelligence can contribute to increased competitiveness. The project will work agilely with participating companies in 3 rounds to learn, analyse, evaluate and implement AI-driven service innovation based on the companies’ identified challenges. The results that are expected after the project are that the participating companies have gained increased knowledge about the possibilities of AI and how technology can create competitive and sustainability benefits within their own operations and identified a number of concrete AI opportunities. Expected long-term effects is an established regional AI hub that supports companies to work strategically with AI-driven service development. This is expected to lead to increased competitiveness and growth/new employment relationships with the companies through new service innovations.
