Sustainable cluster development

The project is based on challenges in the Life Science sector such as future generation shifts with the risk of significant competence loss as well as the industrial revolution that blurs industry boundaries. New types of collaboration and stronger clusters with nearby industries are some examples of needs. By creating new forms of clustering and collaboration, this project aims to increase the exchange between academia, industry and society within Life Science, as well as to promote the participation of women and foreign born people in particular. Some examples of activities are business and needs analysis of companies and promoters, broadened member base in the cluster organisation, development and pilot testing of collaboration concepts. Around 15 companies will participate in the form of participation in workshops and pilot testing of collaboration concepts. The goal in the long term is to promote the growth of a strong and sustainable Life Science sector, where Uppsala County is perceived as an internationally leading development environment.
