Smart Agtech, a strengthened innovation system for new technologies in agriculture

The overall aim is to contribute to the development and implementation of new technologies in agriculture and food production that enables increased food production with a low environmental impact. The project aims to develop collaboration between the innovation platforms SmartAgri in Västra Götaland and AgTech2030 in Östergötland. By bringing together the processes of the environment, as well as expertise and networks within IT and automation, as well as agriculture and biology, a more efficient innovation system for the Agtech industry and better conditions for Swedish small and medium-sized technology companies to develop, test and commercialise new smart technology solutions and methods for intensified, sustainable and safe food production. The goal is to develop the collaboration constellations’ capacity and service offering with the aim of jointly developed as the European Digital Innovation Hub for Agtech. Among other things, the project will: 1. provide relevant support to eight companies to develop new smart internationally competitive products and services. Partly through needs and opportunity analyses, partly by supporting companies with feasibility studies and applications for funding for innovation projects in collaboration with research and other actors. 2. Create a national meeting place for the Agtech industry, researchers and needs owners through events Agriculture Innovation Days (working name) national meeting place for the Agtech industry 3. Explore the possibilities, prepare and shape the parties to be appointed as the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) for Agtech under the Digital Europe programme
