Small and medium-sized companies (SMF) in western Värmland have a unique geographical proximity to the Norwegian market, but still export too little across the border. Increased sustainability requirements mean that the region’s SMEs risk ending up completely outside important markets and supply chains, as consumers become more sustainability conscious and as large supply chains are now faced with new legal requirements. The aim of the project is to increase sustainable exports towards Norway with sustainable products and services. This is achieved by increasing the competence of sustainable business principles, business models and digital marketing tools, among other things. The project intends to work a lot with direct efforts in participating companies, disregarding open inspiration seminars and site-wide marketing. This is because in previous projects it has been shown to have a good effect. The companies will, among other things, receive advice for more structured sales processes with sustainable business principles, individual help to establish business contacts in Norway and skills-enhancing efforts in digital sales and marketing tools. The results of these efforts are expected to contribute to SMEs in western Värmland, among other things, increasing its digital maturity and knowledge of sustainable business principles. This in turn is expected to lead to increased competitiveness with more business with Norwegian companies.
