SPINN2 Science Park – Innovative Innovative Node Phase 2

The overall goal of the SPINN 2 project is to contribute to a more innovative, entrepreneurial and competitive business community in Dalarna that contributes to meeting Agenda 2030. The goal of the project is to further develop Dalarna Science Park into a modern and accessible arena that increases the number of innovative and competitive SMEs in the region and contributes to the implementation of smart specialisation and regional business development. The project has five milestones to which the work is organised: Research and innovation – make research available and stimulate innovation in order to strengthen the capacity for renewal and growth of companies. The activities are carried out in close collaboration with, for example, Dalarna University and cluster initiatives such as Triple Stelix and High Voltage Valley. Business Development – Increase regional growth by contributing to more innovative and sustainable companies in the county. The incubator’s support processes will consist of efforts to verify, plan, start and develop innovative companies with growth potential. Start-ups will be brought together with large companies to strengthen business development and the project will promote increased seed financing Collaboration and development – make Dalarna Science Park available and develop collaboration in the regional innovation ecosystem. The project will work towards increased interaction between students, researchers and industry as well as increased collaboration between business promoters for increased service to the business community. Support the development of local innovative environments and exchanges with other science parks Internationalisation – More companies established in international markets and increase Dalarna Science Park’s international commitment to support the companies. The project will offer process challenges to companies’ internationalisation and collaborate with international partners. Contact and communication – Attract the necessary input from the target groups to the project’s activities and offers as well as spread the project’s results. The implementation is based on active collaboration with the regional innovation system and with similar organisations nationally and internationally. The regional business sector is covered by and participates in all areas of the project, but mainly Business Development, Internationalisation and Research and Innovation. The project will carry out activities and efforts in all sub-areas focused on further developing support processes and concrete tools based on sustainability aspects as leverage for growth and development for the business community. Most important expected results and benefits after the project period: New innovative sustainable companies have been established and supported in their construction. Existing companies have increased their ability to renew and thereby strengthen their competitiveness. Companies have implemented sustainability in their business models and increased their knowledge of sustainability Companies have increased their internationalisation. Sustainability aspects are used integrated within Dalarna Science Park for increased innovation and growth. In the long term, renewal and innovation capabilities are expected to have increased in the region’s business sector, which has strengthened competitiveness and growth. Knowledge and implementation of sustainability aspects in the business sector has increased. Cooperation between different actors within the promoter system and academia is expected to have increased as well as the interaction between large companies and SMEs and start-up companies.
