The overall goal of the project is to become a world leader within the field of data centers and large-scale data management within 5-10 years. The project goal is to further develop the industry-specific innovation system with documented efficiency and speed developed within the ongoing Datacenter Innovation Region project, to include and support growth, export and innovation in regional small and medium-sized enterprises’ operations linked to large-scale data management and data centres. To achieve the project goal, the project owner has set a number of milestones such as implementing needs-driven growth and export efforts for cooperation companies, creating concrete business opportunities for participating SMEs, initiating and promoting networking, regionally, nationally and internationally, as well as collaboration between the region’s companies to support growth and exports in the project’s collaboration companies, to further develop the industry-specific innovation system to include and support growth, export and innovation in regional SMEs, and that gender equality and diversity are an active means of enhancing SMEs. Expected results and outcomes that the project is planning is that regional SMEs have increased their ability to initiate business relationships and do business with the data centre industry in Sweden and internationally as well as created networks, such as the newly formed industry organisation for data centres, in order to implement joint investments in market growth and exports, thereby strengthening the data centre industry in Upper Norrland. The companies will also have an increased understanding of different markets, both nationally and internationally. Companies have gender equality and diversity as an active tool to increase competence and business benefits.
