Region Gotland wants to conduct a feasibility study that will form the basis for a possible future implementation project on energy conversion and energy efficiency on the island. The preliminary study will clarify the technical, social, legal and economic conditions to start the expansion of local electricity production, local bioenergy production and measures for energy efficiency. The aim of the study is to create enough data, knowledge and stakeholder collaboration to be able to roll out the transition work in Gotland parishes. In the feasibility study, Uppsala University contributes with a method study on the social factors that come into play during change work. The work that UU does will also provide the basis for an intended research assignment as part of a forthcoming implementation project.
