Framework project for support to companies affected by the coronapandemic in Västerbotten 2020-2021

The project will develop a new business support for transition in the county’s companies affected by the coronapandemic and also apply for co-funding for an already developed transition check during the crisis. The conversion support is based on completed analyses based on two comprehensive surveys to individual companies in Västerbotten. The goal of the project is to support companies in Västerbotten that have suffered negative effects as a result of Covid-19 and thereby enable sustainable growth after the crisis in connection with Covid-19. The milestones of the project are: — To develop, based on legal national regulations, a new company support for micro, small and medium-sized companies in Västerbotten with long-term survival skills, which have been affected by the consequences of Covid-19, but which are also deemed to have support needs. — ensuring that sustainability dimensions (environmental, economic and social) are taken into account in the assessment criteria for the new support. — In collaboration with Tillväxtverkets Nypscentral (system owner), Region Norrbotten and Region Jämtland Härjedalen develop procedures to simplify and speed up application and payment procedures for the companies that are granted funds. — To communicate the new business support to the target group via web, e-mail and through all the municipalities’ business offices concerned as well as to the relevant business-promoting projects. — to follow up on how the new support helped companies to survive and how the support was distributed from a gender equality perspective. — to evaluate and, if necessary, redirect the project to other initiatives that are assessed more relevant within the project’s objectives. In this case, these efforts must be included within the same processes and legal basis as other regional business subsidies. Expected results of the project’s activities after the end of the project, all funds will be paid out and that about 160 companies have been helped and will survive despite the impact caused by the covid-19 pandemic. The expected result in the long term is that the company support within the framework project has improved the beneficiaries’ opportunities to break out of the crisis and thus continue to have good opportunities to create sustainable growth in Västerbotten.
