Covid 19 – help companies in the tourism industry and KKN in Dalarna

The overall goal of the project is to help companies in the hospitality industry and creative and cultural industries survive the effects of the Coronapandemic and to facilitate the companies’ willingness to innovation and development. Project objectives The goal of the project is to help maintain and adjust existing companies in the hospitality industry/KKN due to the negative effects of the Coronapandemic. Sub-targets: Get companies to survive the Coronapandemic through short efforts to get back to sustainable business Increase the transformation of companies Increase innovation capacity The project will work within 4 work packages where the companies will be able to choose what form of support they need. An entry value is to keep up to date on trends, forecasts and changed guidelines as the outside world changes rapidly. In these efforts, digitalisation will be a tool and a sustainability tool will be implemented in business development efforts. The project is a collaborative project with BNC tourism college. WP 1 Business advice begins immediately at the start of the project and relates to operational advice for companies in crisis to highlight the business plans and budgets of the companies. An assessment is made of the possibilities for companies to continue according to plan and/or are in need of a transition. Examples of activities include support and coaching in various financial crisis plans, business plans, manager support and labour law, as well as stress management etc. WP 2 Transition also begins directly at the start of the project. Relates to efforts to transform the companies by identifying the strength of the company and building on it and/or restoring their business. Examples include support and coaching to review their business models and action plans, communication, product and concept development, etc. WP 3 Innovation and Development. Intends to support companies to develop innovative solutions for a more long-term development of companies’ operations, e.g. develop and test new prototypes and common products between the tourism industry/KKN. Visitors will ask for more secure experiences why the project wants to develop a digital tool for hygiene and regulatory that makes it easier for companies and that they can communicate to their customers. WP 4 Overall project activities. Includes evaluation, communication and dissemination of results as well as overall administration and project management. The project efforts are aimed directly at companies within the hospitality industry and the KKN sector. The efforts are based on the identified needs of companies. The project will go out broadly to companies within both the hospitality industry and KKN and existing channels will be used to offer the companies support. Visit Dalarna’s own business developers will have an outreach role and offer the project’s various efforts. Efforts are made for adapted information and outreach activities to capture entrepreneurs of foreign origin. After the end of the project, participating entrepreneurs are expected to have received business advice and knowledge in order to make it through the Coronapandemic. Participating entrepreneurs have been helped with the transition of their business towards new markets and/or customer groups and developed new innovative offers. Of the participating entrepreneurs, 50 % must be women and 10 % have a foreign background. In the longer term, the project is expected to have contributed to companies in the hospitality industry and the KKN sector having survived the crisis and through transition and innovation strengthened their competitiveness and innovation capabilities. Sustainability efforts and digitalisation have increased in the tourism industry and KKN and also cross-border cooperation between the sectors. The project has strengthened Visit Dalarna’s regional leadership for tourism industry companies in Dalarna. A sustainable and growing tourism industry contributes to an equal and inclusive growth in Dalarna, where many companies are preceded by and/or run by women, which is also the case within KKN, especially in sparse and rural areas.
