For many of the county’s companies, Covid -19 and Corona pandemic are a hard blow, not least in the tourism industry, which is an important industry for Kalmar County. In a short time, companies have lost important revenues while retaining their fixed costs. Although different industries have hit different hard or different quickly, the pandemic hits broadly across almost all industries. The business community asks for both emergency interventions but also help and support to be able to change their operations, plan for different phases and, not least, get help to restart when it’s time for it again. In the project, we gather efforts that both give the companies in our county emergency assistance and expert support but also offer support and guidance for a reboot, to review their plan B or plan C and to be better equipped if similar crises hit us again or if the current crisis becomes too long. The aim of all efforts is to offer the county’s small and medium-sized companies support and guidance in the emergency situation so that they can be strengthened from the current situation, be able to access national support packages and gain new insights, knowledge to take the next step and be better equipped for the future, both the immediate future and the longer term. The project goal, that SME in the county feels that they have a better opportunity to develop positively after the crisis and have taken a step towards a future-proofed operation, should be achieved by working in different phases in crisis management and in different situations for selected industries. The various efforts in the project should be seen as a strengthening of regular operations and supplementing the tools available in the regional arena normally. The project has put together the efforts together with Almi Kalmar County based on the various needs identified during the months that have passed since Covid- 19 broke out and was classified as a global pandemic.
