Reference_Aid_programme: SA.41471(2015/X) Purpose_public_aid: Article: 25 of Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty Urz. EU L 187/1 of 26.06.2014).The object of the project is to conduct R & D research, which will result in the development of a micro-filtration technology based on pararrelated microflow systems, which will be used on an industrial scale and will initially be used in the industry of obtaining biomass from microalgae and in the future in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The research will be carried out by an interdisciplinary team composed of specialists in the areas of microflows, fluid mechanics, industrial designers, software and hardware developers. The project also involves cooperation with at least one scientific body in the field of fluid mechanics and one scientific unit specialised in the production of biomass on an industrial scale, in order to carry out validation tests The main assumptions of the project are 1. Scaling microfiltration, based on microflows, in such a way that it can be used on an industrial scale. 2. Development of a hardware unit for the technology in question, based on the tower concept, 3. Development of a technology to meet the need for scalable low-energy solution, biomass recovery (2 kWh/m³ reduction) 4. Reduction of costs at the stage of primary biomass recovery by around 75 % (currently representing up to 80 % of the cost of the entire process), by using a one-stage filtration system, resulting in a reduction in the amount of energy consumed and working time 5. Increasing the amount of biomass recovered to up to 15 % The result of the project will be to scale the lab system “lab on chip” to an industrial scale, which has not yet been achieved anywhere in the world.
