SA.41471(2015/X) Purpose_public_aid: Article 25 of Regulation (EC) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty (OJ Urz. EU L 187/1 of 26.06.2014).The project will consist of using the 3 rd largest research unit of the Nokia Group (Group) worldwide, i.e. Nokii Solutions and Networks (NSN, Applicant, Company) with the status of Research and Development Centre (CBR), in order to introduce an innovative hybrid solution in Poland and the world that enables the deployment of 5G technology using existing LTE infrastructure. This is a response to the significant challenges of the telecom market in terms of scaling up the deployment of 5G networks while reducing implementation costs, maximising the use of existing resources and achieving a positive environmental impact. The solution to be developed through the integration and complementarity of SingleRAN and 5G networks will be universal (usable for all network frequencies), maximising the use of existing network resources and reducing energy intensity and material intensity. The developed technology will target the largest mobile network operators in Poland and worldwide, and its implementation will take place no later than 3 years after the end of the project. The consequence is the need to carry out comprehensive R & D works covering hardware and software solutions. The R & D work will include industrial research, which will acquire new knowledge in the development of software architectures within the framework of the common LTE and 5G hardware platform and changes that should take place in the hardware area.
