The aim of the project is to provide high-speed broadband internet access to households and public units, i.e. voluntary fire service units belonging to the so-called “Voluntary Fire Service”. “white spots”, in the districts of Bialystok, Sokólski and the city of Białystok, through the construction of the necessary telecommunications infrastructure. The specific objective of the project is to maximise coverage with modern NGA access networks, enabling the provision of Internet access services of at least 100 Mbps, digital television and fixed telephony using a single transmission medium. The network impact area is a coherent whole in terms of infrastructure and topology. The designed network will be built in an area at risk of digital exclusion. The investment will have a positive impact on the elimination of territorial differences in high-speed broadband internet access. Implementation of the project will, among other things, contribute to raising the level of education by increasing access to scientific and teaching materials, preventing the phenomenon of digital exclusion, improving the living standards of residents and activating the local community. The network will be built in FTTH technology. The target group of the project are households and public entities (PUs) identified by UKE as ‘white spots’. The planned concept of the project involves the creation of a broadband network of a total length of 665.611 km, including the construction of 650.413 km of network and the use of an existing network (lease) of 15.198 km, which will cover 8 991 households and enable the connection of 8 units of the Voluntary Fire Service. The infrastructure under construction will include the passive elements of the network that are necessary for the installation and operation of a broadband internet network (e.g.: pipelines, fiber optic cables, splitters, poles, wells), telecommunication nodes with equipment.
