The main objective of the project is to prevent and mitigate the negative effects of COVID-19 in the area of foster care. The goal will be achieved by strengthening foster families, family homes of care and education institutions, regional care and therapeutic institutions, intervention pre-adoption centres, in the area of safe implementation of the tasks of these entities during the COVID-19 outbreak. As part of the assistance in the organisation of remote teaching, support will be given to children placed in foster care through the purchase of computer and audio-visual equipment. The specific objective of the project is therefore to support children, foster parents of family workers and institutional foster care providers in the context of the COVID 19 outbreak by:(a) purchase of equipment for remote learning tasks (including the purchase of laptops, desktops, software and audio-visual equipment) and software for children with disabilities; B) the purchase of personal protective equipment and equipment for the direct fight against the epidemic (including the purchase of personal protective equipment for masks, gloves, the purchase of disinfectants, as well as the purchase of equipment for the organisation of quarantine/insulation facilities for children from foster care). The project is consistent with the idea of deinstitutionalisation, i.e. the process of transition from institutional care to care provided at the level of local communities. The provisions of the Act of 9 June 2011 on family support and foster care (Dz. U. of 2019, item. 1111, as amended), correlate with the provisions of the General European Guidelines on the transition from institutional to community-based care and implement the principle of the primacy of family forms of foster care. Activities carried out in the Project will take into account the principle of equality between women and men.
