Promoting alternative dispute resolution by increasing the competence of mediators, setting up a National Register of Mediators (KRM) and outreach activities

The activities carried out under the above-mentioned project will primarily target citizens interested in using mediation proceedings, judicial authorities as referrals to mediation, mediators and persons who wish to obtain mediation powers. The main element of the project is the creation and implementation of an IT system under the name of the National Register of Mediators (KRM). The National Register of Mediators (KRM) will be a public register containing information on persons practising the profession of mediator. The information available in the register will include, among others, the name of the mediator, data enabling contact with the mediator, the date on which the authorisation was obtained and the category of cases in which the mediator may conduct mediation. The register will be maintained by the Ministry of Justice, and the functioning of the KRM will allow to organise and increase the control of the ministry over the activities of mediators in Poland. The training provided for in the project aims, among other things, to reduce the skills gaps diagnosed among mediators, increasing the availability of professionally trained mediators, increasing the quality of mediation settlements concluded and the dissemination of alternative methods of conflict resolution. The project assumes that the training will be carried out in accordance with certain standards. The promotional campaign will take into account two main lines of action: the first – promoting the National Register of Mediators and mediation qualifications resulting from the ZSK and the second promoting mediation as an alternative to the court, a method of dispute resolution, supporting the effective operation of the judiciary. Information on promotional activities carried out as part of the project will be disseminated via MS websites, courts, social media channels, websites of cams and other mediation centres, and the information to entrepreneurs also on the website and on social media channels.
