Available UG – A comprehensive programme to remove barriers to access to education for persons with disabilities

The aim of the project is to improve the accessibility of the University of Gdańsk for students with disabilities since 01.2020 by implementing a comprehensive solution focused on organizational, architectural, technological, educational and educational changes and organising training courses for teaching and adm. staff aimed at improving competence in the field of work with OzN.Results: e.g. improvement of staff, implementation of solutions to overcome identified barriers of accessibility. Target group – teaching staff, and management and adm. Indirect audiences will be students and everyone to whom the UG offer will be addressed. The project included activities that will lead to the achievement of the MIDI model: — in area 1 – organizational structure – creation of the position of an educational consultant, analysis of the effectiveness of activities carried out within the framework of the project by the dean’s representatives;- in 2 – Architecture- construction of an external lift of persons and a system of marking the campus;- in 3-Technologies supporting-reconstruction of the BON website, purchase of a specialist. equipment, adaptation of UG web portals and e-learning trainings to the needs of OzN;- in 4-procedures- appointment of a team for. Equalising Education Opportunities and developing support procedures related to education, evacuation, investments, development of a script on work with OzN, modif. educational programs consisting of attaching to the thresholds developed procedures for supporting education. ensuring their availability; – in 5 – Types of educational support – individual counselling in the field of forms of education, development of an Individual Teaching Plan and principles of adaptation of teaching materials, providing: services of sign interpreter, computer assistant., assistant in the library;- in 6 – Disability awareness training – training for staff related to supporting technologies, architecture, evacuation, adaptations, support in mental crisis, study visits in the field of foreign teaching.
