Barrier-free studies as a chance for professional success

The applicant for this project is the International School of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław. For several years, MWSLiT in Wrocław has been expanding its teaching offer every year, thus increasing the number of people with disabilities who want to study and work at the university. The growing participation of students with dysfunctions in the academic community, the need to adapt not only the infrastructure but also the university’s procedures, the involvement of the university in projects diagnosing the situation of people with disabilities influenced the decision on the implementation of this project by the Applicant. The project is implemented in cooperation with the social partners: Spokesperson for the President of Wrocław Persons with disabilities, the Office for Cooperation with the University of Wrocław and the Polish Foundation Without Barriers. The cooperation will cover the following scope of activities related to the adaptation of the University to the needs of persons with disabilities:1. Joint identification of the needs of the University.2. Exchange of good practices.3. Assistance in establishing cooperation with other organisations working for persons with disabilities, in particular for the organisation of training and consultation.4. Analysis of the implemented solutions for the adaptation of the University. The project foresees adaptation of the MWSLiT building to the needs of people with disabilities and breaking down barriers in gaining social roles and functional efficiency, necessary for the participation in social life of students with disabilities; combating social exclusion of students with disabilities, supporting changes in social awareness of people with disabilities and increasing access to education and upskilling for students with disabilities. The target group is the university and administrative and teaching staff-70 people. (35 K and 35 M). Indirect recipients of the project will be a wide range of people benefiting from the offer of the university, among others: students, candidates, postgraduate students, participants of courses and training courses.
