“Silesian Space of Innovation” is a grant project aimed at finding and developing 40 innovative ideas to solve the problems of the inhabitants of the Silesian Voivodeship (social micro-innovations). As part of the project, a social innovation incubator will be created, which will find and support the authors of innovative solutions in their development by awarding 40 grants for this purpose in the amount of PLN 45,000. The innovations developed in the incubator are carried out in accordance with the service design design methodology, based on the concept of design thinking. Service design is a user-centric process of creating innovations. The chosen methodology allows:- in a systematic and organised way to move from the phase of the idea to the design of the final design of the solution;- verify whether the created solution is a response to the real needs of the recipients for whom the service is created (recipient at the center of innovation). In the case of the incubator, most of the ideas will be recipients of Silesian residents and the innovators will consult with their solutions. The innovations subject to the competition may include, for example, changing the way services are provided, introducing a new service or solutions in problem areas: (1) the revitalisation of social cities, (2) depopulation, (3) the development of white and green jobs, (4) the low employment rate of women, (5) the low employment rate of persons 50 years old, (6) alleviating the social consequences of energy poverty and at the same time concerns the problem in the Silesian Voivodeship. As part of the project approx. 100 people will be supported in the field of design and development of micro-innovation (innovators). The project will be implemented in the form of a grant project, the principles of which are set out in Articles 35 and 36 of the Implementation Act. The project will be implemented exclusively under the theme “Using social innovation on a micro scale to test new ways of solving social problems on the example of Silesia.”
