Innovative education in nursing – creation of a Monoprofile Centre for Medical Simulation at the Vincent Pol School of Social and Natural Sciences in Lublin

The main objective of the project to improve the quality of education through the development and implementation of the University’s FP and the creation and development of the MMCSM for nursing. According to the guidelines of the draft rules, appropriate simulation rooms will be created with the adaptation of the equipment and the renewal of the infrastructure. They will be equipped with advanced patient simulators, medical equipment, audio-video systems, etc. This will give you the opportunity to conduct classes implemented by methods of medical simulation. The trained technical staff will appropriately use the equipment and maintain its durability and functionality. Teaching staff trained by medical simulation techniques will make appropriate use of the resulting technical infrastructure to introduce new techniques into the nursing training programme. Simulation scenarios will be prepared to deliver learning outcomes. The change of syllabuses and the adjustment of the time grid will already take place in the second year of the project’s start. Part of the hours of practical classes will be carried out by simulation methods. Additional workshops and trainings for students of the university’s medical faculties and the launched education as part of the curriculum will include the implementation of simulation methods. In total, 2745 hours of simulation classes at MCSM will be completed in the curriculum. The developed simulation manual and simulation scenario database combined with the teaching support application will be available to students. The implementation of the project will improve the quality of education. An element of the quality assessment will be the introduction of anobjective structured examination of the OSCE. The principle of gender equality will be implemented through the project in the following areas: increasing K’s participation in employment and career development, fighting feminisation, reducing gender segregation, combating gender stereotypes in education and training and in the labour market, training schedule will be designed so that both men and women have the opportunity to reconcile work and family life.
