The implementation of the project will make it possible to achieve the main objective of developing the research potential of the Central Laboratory of MPWiK SA Kraków and to create the Centre for Research and Development of Water Supply of the City of Kraków by purchasing a highly specialised research equipment that will enable the development and implementation of analytical methods and the launch of monitoring of new microbiological and chemical indicators of the quality of water intended for consumption, in accordance with the requirements of the new DWD Directive and WHO recommendations, and to increase the scope of monitoring of waste water quality. As shown above, the implementation of the project, which will make it possible to fully adapt the water quality monitoring system in the City of Krakow’s water supply system to the new requirements resulting from the draft DWD and, consequently, fully implement the provisions of the new DWD, will achieve the following additional objectives, as indicated in the project dyrektywy:zrównoważony development with the associated objective of ensuring universal and equitable access to safe drinking water at an affordable price; circular economy, resource efficient and sustainable drinking water management, which will contribute to reducing energy consumption and unnecessary water losses.Increasing citizens’ confidence in tap water water that reduces the use of plastic bottles.
