The current epidemiological situation in Poland has a very negative impact on the economy of Opolskie voivodship, in particular entrepreneurs. Government decisions (health-related) have a very large, often negative impact on many spheres of life, and in particular on doing business. A very dynamically changing situation means that Polish entrepreneurs in the SME sector need support in order to be able to maintain financial liquidity and jobs due to the difficulties caused by the epidemiological situation. Under the project, the Applicant assumes non-repayable support in the form of a non-repayable grant to self-employed, micro and small businesses who have experienced at least a 30 % decrease in sales revenues, caused by the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and were faced with a sudden shortage or lack of liquidity due to the pandemic. The conditions for support were laid down in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy of 28 April 2020 on the granting of aid in the form of grants or repayable aid under operational programmes for the period 2014-2020 in order to support the Polish economy in the context of the COVID-19 outbreak (Journal of Laws U. Item 773) and set out in point 3.1 (point 22 of the cumulative conditions) of the EC Communication “Temporary framework for State aid measures to support the economy in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak”. The grant will have a non-repayable form of aid with 100 % ERDF co-financing, and entrepreneurs will be able to use it only to finance working capital – financing the current activities of the company, which has deteriorated due to COVID-19.
