The overarching objective of the investment is to increase the health security of inhabitants of Podlaskie voivodship by improving the epidemiological situation due to the threat posed by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus as a result of coordinated actions to achieve an optimal level of health care for the inhabitants of the region. The specific objectives include improving the quality and physical complement of the infrastructure used in the process of providing medical services relevant to the epidemiological state in connection with the SARS CoV-2 coronavirus threat, reducing the risk of spreading SARS-CoV-2 in the voivodship, increasing the availability of medical staff in the Podlaskie province to the necessary modern health technologies in the field of rescue, diagnosis and treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infected persons, increasing the capacity and ability to carry out the diagnostic and medical and rescue process in the most efficient, effective and safe way, minimising the risk of shortages of medical personnel by increasing the availability of necessary personal protective equipment, devices and means for disinfection, reducing the time of the rescue and diagnostic and medical response by obtaining an equivalent level of medical resources to fight SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus throughout the region. The project’s activities are: purchase of equipment, specialised means of transport, medical and diagnostic equipment, purchase of tests, reagents and medical materials, purchase of disinfection equipment and means, purchase of personal protective equipment, execution of necessary repair works of technical infrastructure. The target group of the project is directly all residents of Podlaskie province exposed to SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, and indirectly those living in the region, who will receive medical assistance in the field of diagnosis or treatment of COVID-19 from the project’s partner units.
