The aim of the project is to give new functional values to the urban space located above the water reservoir in Siemiatycze and to improve its aesthetics by giving a recreational function. The result of the project will be the creation of the Social Integration Square as a place of recreation and recreation adapted to the needs of residents and tourists of all ages. The material scope of the project includes earthworks and demolition works, the preparation of lawns, pavement paths, safe pavements, recreational equipment and fences and terrain lighting. As part of the small architecture, devices are planned for different age groups – both the outdoor gym and the elements of the children’s playground. Among the specific objectives, the social inclusion of people living in degraded areas should be highlighted by creating decent living conditions, improving their safety and enabling their activation. The target group is children and adolescents and people over 50 years old, including seniors. The group of indirect beneficiaries should also include the entire local community, which will be able to use the supported infrastructure. The scope of the project follows directly from the GPR of the City of Siemiatycze for 2017-2023, which is included in the list of revitalisation programmes maintained by the MA ROPWP 2014-2020. The project affects the social, spatial-functional, technical and environmental sphere of the degraded area in the GPR and is part of a broad and complementary spectrum of activities defined in the GPR. The envisaged intervention on the infrastructure around the floodplains, undertaken in parallel in complementary projects, provides a solid basis for the activation of the local community. The project affects the indicators specific to project type 9 as defined in the LSR, i.e. the area of revitalisation of 0.348 ha and the open space created or rehabilitated in urban areas of 3480 sq m.
