The emergency situation of the pandemic and the related spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus have put the functioning of assistance systems in Wielkopolska and across the country seriously at risk. In order to secure people – the direct recipients of the services of social assistance and integration institutions and foster care should primarily take care of the whole sector of people who help residents of the institution 24 hours a day and those requiring assistance in their daily operation, but also the staff – the staff providing support services and their families. In the current situation, ensuring the safety of this group will effectively prevent the spread of the epidemic and allow the system to function smoothly. The Regional Centre for Social Policy in Poznań – the provincial self-government unit carrying out the tasks of the social policy of the region, and in particular social assistance, is responsible for supporting these institutions and staff of the social assistance and integration system, which provide daily assistance to the most deprived – the elderly, dependent, dependent, families and all other people at risk of social exclusion. The role of the Regional Centre for Social Policy in Poznań will be granting grants and coordinating cooperation to prevent COVID-19 and ensuring the safety and protection of the lives of employees of the social assistance and integration system.
