A replacement of interconnector in Osijek will contribute to achieving the thematic objective 4C3 of the Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020 Operational Programme. The heat losses will decrease from the current 7.66 % to 6.58 %, which will result in a savings in primary fuel consumption of the heat and power plants of 6 151 MWh. The creation of more favourable hydraulic conditions in the spindle network will create the conditions for further development of the thermal user and reduce the electricity consumption of power pumps by 2 534 MWh, which will result in additional savings in primary fuel consumption for electricity production in Croatia at the level of 6.205 MWh. These savings will result in CO2 savings of 4 378 t/year.
