Marjan 2020- Rapid past, the haven of the future

The Mark-forest of Marjan is a unique natural heritage representing the symbol of the city of Split. This project, inspired by Public forest management institutions and by the City of Split, is precisely about the total transformation of the Marjan forestry forest. The project will develop a range of visitor infrastructure content, equip and improve signalling, all pedestrian, cycling and triple routes, introduce a range of training, attractions, educational content and transport systems by road and sea, and start with a range of workshops, training, schools in nature and sport, and finally the development of overall educational and information multimedia presentations via the internet and markets, as well as in their own information and sales areas. This will be achieved practically without any construction, on existing constructed areas and areas. The target group is all visitors to park-forests, e.g. athletes, local urban populations, occasional visitors as well as children and youth as a key target group for education and knowledge transfer to younger generations about natural heritage that must be protected so that they can be used in the future. Persons with special needs and with disabilities are an extremely important group, as accurate routes and routes will be mapped and a range of information and communication types for those with disabilities will be mapped. This project is a unique example of how minimal interventions in the natural and/or severe heritage have made dramatic advances — by putting the entire pre-drained infrastructure as new growth, development, employment, but also improving overall sustainability and the biodiversity of mark-forest Marjan. Through targeted content, activities, products and infrastructure, the project will have a direct impact on the growth of visitors and tourists and return the Marco shine and distinctive character in Croatia and in the world.
