The opening up of the public sector for re-use data leads to considerable socio-economic benefits. Data generated by the public sector can be used as a feedstock for innovative and value-added products, which drives the economy in terms of job creation and stimulating investment in data-driven sectors. It is therefore necessary to ensure that any standards or guidelines in this area should not be laid down in individual models, but should be driven by innovations and re-use of data.
