The general objective of the proposed project is to improve the education infrastructure at the level of the municipality of Onești and implicitly of the educational process, in order to ensure an educational process at European standards in order to increase the participation of the school population and teachers in the educational process. Investment in education, improvement of educational infrastructure is a constant concern of local public authorities. In addition to the many important considerations contributing to quality education, the conditions of educational establishments in which children learn are of major importance. This is why a considerable interest is needed in rehabilitated/modernising buildings appropriate to the performance of teaching activities. The interest in the educational infrastructure of the municipality of Onești exists from both the management of the Gymnasium Ghiță Mocanu School and the Municipality of Onești. The Local Council of the Municipality of Onești resorted to the start of the rehabilitation of the building bodies of the Gimnaziale Ghiţă Mocanu School, given the conditions under which the school activity is currently carried out, in order to achieve the proposed objective, which is to develop and improve the educational infrastructure and to create qualitative conditions for the conduct of the teaching processes. The present project will take into account aspects of energy-efficient and environmentally responsible solutions, reduced environmental impact, the creation of appropriate hygiene conditions, as well as the saving of funds for the operation of buildings. In addition, the general objective of the project contributes to an increase in the quality and performance of the educational process, as well as to the increase of the level of participation in compulsory education. This objective is also reflected in the Local Development Strategy of the Municipality of Onești for the period 2017-2022 by the local authorities committed to supporting the quality of pre-university education through: ensuring the infrastructure necessary to carry out a quality educational act, increase efficiency, in particular the use of human and material resources, the correspondence between the educational offer and the requirements of the labour market, namely the social context, ensuring equal opportunities in access and use of educational resources.
